The Toldi I was introduced by Hungary in 1939, based on the Swedish Landsverk L-60 design. Armed with a 20mm anti-tank gun and a machine gun, it was primarily used for reconnaissance and support roles. The Toldi I saw action in the early stages of Hungary's involvement in the war, particularly on the Eastern Front, but its light armament and armor limited its effectiveness against more modern tanks as the war progressed. Despite this, it played an important role in the Hungarian armored forces during the early campaigns.
