The Tiger II, also known as the Königstiger or King Tiger, was the successor to the Tiger I and officially designated the Panzerkampfwagen VI Tiger Ausf. B. The "P" stands for the Porsche turret variant, which was the initial design for the Tiger II. Although only a few Tiger IIs were equipped with the Porsche turret before production switched to the Henschel turret, the Porsche design featured a rounded turret front, which gave it a distinctive appearance. Introduced in 1944, the Tiger II combined thick armor and formidable firepower with the long-barreled 88mm KwK 43 L/71 gun. These tanks saw action on both the Eastern and Western fronts, including notable battles such as the Battle of Normandy and the Ardennes Offensive.
