The Tiger II, also known as the Königstiger or King Tiger, was the successor to the Tiger I and was officially designated the Panzerkampfwagen VI Tiger Ausf. B. The "H" stands for the Henschel turret variant, which was the most commonly produced version. Introduced in 1944, the Tiger II combined the thick armor of the Tiger I with a more powerful 88mm KwK 43 L/71 gun. Its formidable firepower and heavy armor made it nearly impervious to most Allied anti-tank weapons. The Tiger II saw action on both the Eastern and Western fronts, including the Battle of Normandy and the Ardennes Offensive, becoming a symbol of German armored might.
