The Somua SAu40 is a detailed model designed by Bergman, capturing the unique French self-propelled gun based on the Somua S35 chassis. With precise craftsmanship, this model is perfect for wargaming scenarios requiring mobile artillery and anti-tank support.
The Somua SAu40 was a French self-propelled gun prototype developed in the late 1930s, intended for both anti-tank and infantry support roles. Armed with a 75mm howitzer mounted in the hull, it was based on the reliable Somua S35 chassis. Although the SAu40 showed potential, it was not mass-produced before the fall of France in 1940, and only a few prototypes saw limited action. The design highlighted France’s early attempts to create versatile armored vehicles to meet the evolving demands of modern warfare.
