The Panzerfaust was a disposable, single-shot anti-tank launcher that put serious armour-killing power into the hands of ordinary infantry. Cheap to make and simple to use, it became widespread from 1943 onward and was especially valued by lightly equipped formations like the Fallschirmjäger, who often fought without heavy support.
